INTERCESSORS
FOR THE RESTORATION OF
ISRAEL
PRAYER
SUMMIT
2
- 9th MAY 2010
DIARY OF EVENTS
I just knew that this year’s Prayer Summit was going to be something special
because when I felt the Lord calling me to go, everything went wrong that could
go wrong….sounds familiar!!! David’s encouraging words of “Don’t worry your not
on your own” spurred me on, to which I
am sure all you lovely people from the Prayer Summit can relate to. Thus, I found myself prepared for battle as I
staggered to my hotel room in
Jerusalem
at 4.30am, trying unsuccessfully not to wake my room mate. However I did feel
lifted in my spirit as my room number and the safe number both added up to the
number seven – a sign from God.
Sunday
evening:
There
was such an excited buzz as 43 intercessors from 10 nations gathered. Some
familiar faces, some new ones. It was so encouraging to have with us a young
man, Josef from
Sweden
and a
young lady Jeannie from
South
Africa
. Any young believers out there,
please do seek the Lord to follow their example, you are needed.
David
opened the meeting with prayer and an update on the current political situation
in the Land. We were so very blessed to
have Jerry and Karen Ellard as our worship leaders who took us right into the
throne room of God. Karen led us in our
theme song for the Prayer Summit which was from psalm 123:2……..crying out for
mercy
Hineh K’Einei Avadim
alyad adoneihem
k’einei shifchah
elyad g’virtah
Ken eineinu El
Adonai Eloheinu
Ad she’r cha-nenu
Behold as the eyes of
servants look to the hands of their masters
As the eyes of a
maiden to the and of her mistress
So our eyes are
toward to the Lord our God
Until He will have
mercy on us.
Josie shared a very powerful message based on
the theme for this year’s Prayer Summit – “Strengthen us oh God” from Judges
16:28. Delilah pressured Sampson so much that he caved in…a picture of the
pressure
Israel
is under today
and how we have to stand in the gap to pray strength into them. Then Josie
said. “This week we are a mobile house of prayer, we are to declare victory
from the mountain top. We have come to receive the wheat and the wine and the
oil” The Lord had been speaking to me
for months about the mountain top, so I felt this was confirmation that we
would indeed break through the spiritual realm by declaring the word of God
this week. We ended the evening by all
declaring psalm 134.
Monday
To start the day we
gathered for a time of worship and declaring the Word. Josie shared powerful scriptures to stand on
for the day - 1Chron.29:11 and psalm 48:1-3.
David spoke about the
political situation in the Land and the largest field of natural gas and oil
that has been found…could this be the spoils that scripture speaks about?
The day was spent
declaring the word of the Lord around the city of our King. It was fabby to have Yaron as our excellent
guide for the week, a very godly, humble man who has the mind of a walking
encyclopaedia! Our driver was a lovely
Israeli named Naphtali who always had a huge smile on his face. We went to the top of the
Mount
of Olives
to pray, praise, raise our flags and blow the
shofars. This was a very strategic place
to begin.
As we travelled on
route 60, Yaron explained that it goes right through vital biblical sites and
the mountains of Judea and
Samaria
. This is spiritual. We went past Jewish
settlements, beautiful homes that the nations are pressurising
Israel
to give
up and we declared Neh.2:20.
We stopped to pray at
the border in
Hebron
,
right by the wall. It looks so ugly but praise God it’s doing the job. Josie
declared Is.31:4 and we prayed for the spiritual walls of opposition to be
pulled down.
During the afternoon
we went to the flicks as we say in
Liverpool
,
better known as the movies. Seeing the
apathy of the high priest’s family as the temple in
Jerusalem
was about to be destroyed reminded
me so much of events today and has fired me up to pray….wake up church before its
too late!
We spent some personal time at the Western
Wall. It was the perfect place, standing shoulder to shoulder with Jewish
ladies and silently praying for their salvation. There were lots of soldiers who had just
finished their training, all waiting at the Western Wall to be sworn in before
Torah and such an opportunity to talk to them.
This was a blessed,
full packed day that started out as a group of strangers and ended up a solid
army of God in unity and purpose.
Evening
Stephen, a lovely
brother from the
Caribbean
joined the worship
team. I was on crutches a few weeks before I came so it was such a blessing to
be able to dance through this anointed worship, halleluyah!
Ofir Amitai spoke a
powerful message on “Shall I bring to birth and not cause to bring forth?.”
from Isaiah 66. He said “those who mourn
for
Israel
will feel her
pain, these are the praying people who mourn for
Zion
, God tells us to rejoice with them”.
David gave a
scripture from Isaiah 2:2-3 saying this is why we are here. I’m in agreement
with this…..since I got home I can’t stop proclaiming the word of the Lord from
Zion
,
halleluyah!
The evening came to a
close with Karen singing a prophetic song……….Oh dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Surely I shall cause breath to enter you, and
you shall live, and you shall live.
Tuesday
Another Spirit filled
day around the city of the King. We gathered to pray in the Upper Room and God
was gracious to give us a good slot as there were many people about. We prayed
specifically for the wells to rise up. Oh how we cry out for the spirits of the
patriarchs, of David and of Joshua to rise up again.
Once outside Val and I had the opportunity to
speak to a lovely rabbi about our faith and what we owe the Jewish people. He
listened to everything we said and thanked us on leaving. I few years ago he would of just walked away –
wow!
I was soooo pleased
that we got into the Hurva Synagogue which I have been closely watching
the rebuilding of. This is the third
time the synagogue has been rebuilt and it has been said
that after the third time of rebuilding, Messiah will come. Of course we can’t
take this literally but it’s interesting. We had a full guided tour by a lovely young man named Tal then had time
to go to the very top. Looking down onto the Cardo, Jewish music drifted up as
young people celebrated Ba Mitzvah. I needed no prompting to dance the Hora all
around the top of this magnificent building.
Then a visit to the
Garden Tomb. There was such a sweet presence of the Lord here. Pastor Anthony
led the communion service and gave an inspired message. As we went in a group of people were singing
“Amazing Grace” and on leaving “We are Redeemed.” These two songs really express the finished
work at
Calvary
.
Evening
Our speaker was Hilda
Chen from the
Prayer
Tower
in
Jerusalem
.
She is an amazing intercessor and such an inspiration on how to pray. The theme for her talk was “We find Yeshua in
the Torah.” It was interesting when she
said that all the ancient maps have
Israel
as the centre of the world,
modern maps do not. It was a very
emotional experience when each of us went forward to pray for our own nation. I
was broken when Josef from
Sweden
prayed knowing the rise of anti Semitism in that county and Mark from
Ireland
with
the years of bitter hatred there.
Late that night,
Yaron took a group to the Western Wall Tunnel. A visit definitely not to be missed if you’ve not been there.
Wednesday
I and two other sisters were chatting to a
brother whilst waiting to board the bus He shared a vision the Lord has given
him during the night. He saw a row of demons sitting on a wall dangling their legs and laughing at
us. We prayed against these mocking spirits. We realized that the enemy
will always try to belittle us, but praise God we can rise above in the mighty
name of Yeshua!
We spent the morning
at the
Prayer
Tower
. It was a truly amazing time in the Lord’s presence. We shared scripture,
worshipped before His throne in song and dance and prayed the scriptures. Josie
had a brilliant idea of placing scriptures in a basket to pray into as led by
the Spirit. As each person came up to pray, Karen sang a prophetic song relating
to the prayer being prayed….simply awesome. David shared James 5:16 and 1 Cor:3:9 saying to pray
effectively we need to pray the word and seek the Lord for rhema words. This
was most encouraging.
After the experience
at the
Prayer
Tower
we were all well equipped to
tackle Samuel’s Mountain. After ascending trillions of steps we were rewards
with a magnificent view of the mountains of
Judah
and
Samaria
and
as far as the eye could see all around. It was a magnificent place to pray as
we split into groups to cover the four corners all declaring together psalm
149. After shofar blowing and a loud victory shout we headed off to
Yad
Va
shem
Yad
Va
shem is a place of reflection, of
being on your own to absorb all that one is seeing…..in horror. This year I
went in the art museum and I’m so glad I did. The paintings were hauntingly
real, telling a story on canvass. Sitting outside having coffee, Val and I got talking to three Israeli
soldiers and Val felt led to read part of psalm 91 to them. As they listened I
had just one “Soldiers psalm 91” scripture card in my purse which I gave to
them. It was such a blessing to see their readiness to receive it. I am amazed how open the young people are to
hearing the gospel.
Evening
Our speaker Eliyahu
Ben Haim gave a powerful message on “The
Times we are living in for
Israel
and the church” from Ezekiel 36-39.
He said “ sometimes the Lord calls us to warn others, an evil wind is blowing.”
After listening to his message I realize that we can’t afford to be silent. On
leaving the meeting there was a spectacular firework display in celebration of
an Arab wedding at the hotel. It was so spectacular it put New Years Trafalgar
Square display to shame! I did wonder
though after hearing that wonderful message from Eliyahu, is the Lord speaking!
Thursday
We were well into the
week now and also well into knowing each others names…well almost baring a few
senior moments from yours truly! We said goodbye to the very splendid Regency
Hotel today as we heading for
Haifa
in the North.
Our bus journey was
as always a blessed time of sharing, worship and speaking out the word of God.
Wilton
led us in prayer
from Eph.3:9-10 and Josie called us to all declare Ps.24:7-10 and Is.11:2.
It was a blessing and
answer to prayer that we got into the Knesset to pray. We were disappointed for Ingrid not to be with us
but I know that the Lord will give her double what the locusts had stolen. I was in awe of the beautiful biblical
tapestries on the walls, the seating plan in the shape of the menorah, the
mosaics of the twelve tribes of
Israel
on the floor, the golden menorahs everywhere and I thought “no wonder satan
hates this place.” We gathered to pray
and there were tears of intercession as we worshipped and declared the word of
God. Josephine gave scripture from Deut.33:27-29 which was a rhema word for
this moment. A Jewish lady said how much
it meant to her to hear us singing in Hebrew. As we worshipped I quietly danced
a Davidic dance. I never imagined in my
wildest dreams that I would get to dance in the Knesset –wow! That day in the Knesset, we truly built an
altar of praise, halleluyah.
Yaron led us onto the
roof tops to pray at a place situated where the Christian, Arab and Jewish
quarters meet. As we prayed I could feel the spiritual forces in the heavenly
places and was again reminded of this is why we are here.
Our visit to plant a
tree in memory of all the aborted babies in the Land was very emotional.
The place was where
the sun stood still from Joshua 10:12-13. It was a vision by Be’ad Chaim, Pro
Life, to purchase this land 2 months ago and is prophetically the beginning of
God restoring the Land. The cost to plant a tree was $18 – the number of life,
chai. I have never felt such emotion planting a tree. I think we were all shocked
when we learned the statistics of aborted babies but also encouraged to pray
for the wonderful work Pro Life is doing to save them. We all received a little
book mark saying: “This year, 40,000
women in
Israel
will return their Father’s gift unopened.”
Our last stop was to
the
Israeli
Tank
Museum
,
La Trun. Our guide was a young soldier from
America
who made Aliyah four years ago. We prayed for Gilead Shalit and also an Israeli
soldier on behalf of the IDF. Seeing these tanks at close quarters really brings
it home what combat is all about and gives us an understanding on how to pray.
Evening
We were welcomed at
the Dan Panorama,
Haifa
with a nice cold drink, then a hasty shower, unpack and a bit of a bun fight
dinner then off on the bus again for an evening meeting at the Carmel Assembly.
There were lots of nations there as it was their Convocation. I was delighted
to meet up with several people from my own fellowship. It was so freeing up to
join in the dancing which went all round the room and definitely a good way of
testing the heart rate!
Friday
We gathered to hear
Joshua, a young youth pastor from
Carmel
speak and share about this most important ministry. We had the opportunity to
pray for him and declare the word over him. It is good to hear young men with
such passion, thank God for them.
Our first stop was
overlooking the wonderful
bay
of
Haifa
where we
declared the word of the Lord. As Josephine, Val and I stood together waiving
our flags; we noticed they were the colour of the temple: blue, red and purple.
We all declared Num.10:9 and gave a loud victory shout as the shofars blew. We had built another altar.
We headed off for
Elijah’s mountain and Lesley gave a scripture for everyone from 1Thes.5:23. On
the way up there were very old oak trees on one side and pines that were
planted at the birth of
Israel
on the other side. Naphtali gave a
scripture for everyone: “There is no one we can trust except our Father in
heaven.” How very true is this. David saw a fire engine just before Karen’s fabby
cd came on –“ Fire on the Mountain” By
the time we got to the top we were all indeed fired up and had another anointed
time of prayer and praise up there. End times scriptures poured into my mind as
I looked down on the “valley of decision.”
We had a lazy
afternoon shopping in a Druis village, sampling the delicious falafels and Mediterranean
food. It was a good time to relax and reflect as Shabbat was drawing near.
Evening
It was such a joy to
enter into the Shabbat rest and enjoy a wonderful Shabbat dinner with new found
friends that I felt I had known forever. Tonight Stefan and his lovely wife Keren, joined
us. Keren led beautiful anointed worship
and Stefan gave a brilliant message on “looking”. After listening to the cd a
few times I keep getting more and more out of it. It was heart breaking when
Stefan said “The story of
Israel
has been one of rejection from generation to generation, just like children who
are adopted, orphaned and passed from place to place.” David then read Is.40:1, a prophecy over the
heart.
Shabbat
We spent the morning
at the Carmel Assembly Shabbat service. It was so prophetic with all the nations gathered together on this high
mountain. Karen Davis’ and the worship team were wonderful, taking us into the
presence of the Lord. It was inspiring to see the worship dancers and I was
rapidly making mental notes of all those lovely flag movements. David Davis spoke from Shir-HaShirim –Songs
of Songs. This was a prophetic message
of Yeshua coming for His bride. One of the dancers acted out David’s message so
very meaningfully.
We spent the
afternoon up on the Lebanese boarder.
We sang a Declaration Song which went like
this and apologies if I’ve got it wrong!
Adoni
Melech - Adoni reigns
Adoni
Malach - Adoni did reign
Adoni
yim loch - Adoni will reign forever
Layolam
ba ed
Against a fabulous
view of the Mediterranean, the hot sun and the huge iron gates separating
Israel
from
Lebanon
, Marylou prayed a strong
warfare prayer, drawing all into agreement. The shofars blew and the shouts of victory rose high into the heavenlies
as we declared “Am Israel Chai (
Israel
will live). One of the
soldiers poked his head out of a window and laughingly said “There’s soldiers’
trying to sleep here.” At that moment I
felt the Lord say to pray the IDF are not caught sleeping.
Travelling on the bus
I noticed some lovely things like railings along the highway in the pattern of
King David’s harp, A traffic roundabout with flowers in the pattern of the
menorah, a huge field of smiling sunflowers, Israeli flags waiving proudly
everywhere.
Evening
This evening we were
treated to a concert by Pam Singer, a prophetic Messianic singer who has been
going out of
Zion
for thirty five years. She said she is a song midwife, bringing them forth. It was a beautiful evening listening to her
testimony and ending by her singing the Aaronic Blessing to us as we lifted our
palms showing our unique fingerprints to God.
Sunday
Even though this was
our last day, there certainly was no feeling of winding down, that excited buzz
of prayer warriors together was stronger than ever.
We spent the morning
on the
Sea of Galilee
. We boarded Faith, owned
by Daniel, a believer who sang beautiful praise songs to us. It was good to
have Brookie come and speak to us. It was so encouraging when she said that it
was Messianic Gentiles that brought Daniel to the Lord and we are causing the
veil to be removed – halleluyah! She prophesied Is.43:18-19.
It was just heaven to
sing, dance and bask in Yeshua’s shalom on this boat named Faith.
Heading on to the Golan Heights Wilton shared:
“Can a nation be born in a day (natural birth 1948). It will be born again in the day when they
look on Him whom they have pierced).” – wow. Just as Yaron said that we were almost there, we saw a huge bird of the
eagle family take off and follow the bus until we stopped when it flew up and
away. My eyes spotted Marylou’s flag of a huge eagle with a serpent in its
mouth
. I believe we built
another altar as we declared amazing scriptures over the enemy. We prayed the
Lord would open the spiritual road to
Damascus
.
Is.19:24-25 and also freedom from oppression for the women. It is amazing how
close the
Lebanon
and
Syria
are to
Israel
and how vitally important it is for
Israel
to keep the Golan.
Evening
A time of sharing. Each persons account was different, but put
together, moulded into one, in unity of spirit. I felt so privileged to be part
of this beautiful group of people with the same vision for the restoration of
Israel
– the very
name we came to – Intercessors for the Restoration of Israel.
Keith was so helpful, taking up the rear as we
went out and about all week and also making sure the sound system and overhead
worked smoothly, bless you Keith.
Of course none of
this would have been possible without our amazing leaders, David and Josie and
I can only give a huge THANK YOU for your dedication and obedience to your call
from the Lord, may He bless you richly with His shalom.
Finally, thank you
Father for watching over us and your word to perform it.
